INAUGURAL CONCERT
The inaugural CRSO concert was held in the Morehead Conference Center on Saturday, December 7, 2013 to a full house of approximately 900 people. The collaboration between Morehead State University who provided seed monies, The City of Morehead, Morehead Tomorrow, the athletic programs of basketball and football at MSU, and a Steering Committee of Morehead citizens was cooperation at its best. This collaboration led by Ewell Scott, Chairman of the CRSO Steering Committee, was a study in how communities can make themselves stronger and better. Special note should be given to Catherine Rogers and Good Shepard Printing for creating and printing the program. Also we are very grateful to those banks and companies who bought full page advertisements in the program.
The concert was a huge success and we hope that future concerts will be equally successful. This regional symphony orchestra will need continuing support to provide future quality concerts. Please do sign the donation form and give $10.00 to become a member of the Cave Run Symphony Orchestra Society. Membership gives you the right to vote for the CRSO Board of Directors sometime in the near future.

The concert program listed the music to be performed by the CRSO. They played extremely well and the crowd cheered - really cheered. Pieces included: The Star Spangled Banner, A Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson, American Salute by Morton Gould, Carmen Suite No.1 by Georges Bizet, Armed Forces Salute arranged by Bob Lowden, and Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson.

The program also listed the concert musicians. The Orchestra had very little time to prepare for the concert. It is to the credit of the conductor, Samuel Nordlund, and the musicians that they sounded so very polished. They were splendid!
